CALL TO RIGHTEOUSNESS

Praise You, my Lord. Praise the Lord God. Holy Spirit, You're welcome in this place. (tongues) How many are filled with the Holy Ghost and moving in the gifts in this place? How many are saved in here tonight? How many are going to get saved in here tonight? Praise the Lord. Man, I'm happy already. Praise God for you guys. Praise Jesus.

I wanted to turn it up a little bit. I hope that's not hurting you grandmas and grandpas, but we want to let some of the gang-bangers out there - here's two. 'How you guys doin' out there? Praise the Lord God.' We need some - ah - we need more of the gang-bangers hearing us. You guys feel like goin' out and talkin' to 'em? Tell 'em to come over here. And if they say they won't, say, 'Chicken.' :)

Nicky Cruz

The guy that discipled me got set free out of a gang. Nicky Cruz. God knew I needed somebody to disciple me that wouldn't take any garbage, you know, seriously. There are some people who say, 'Love your enemy and love everyone and do good to those who would do harmfully to you, and all of that.' And that is the Word of God. We are to love our enemies and to pray for them. But there is also something about living as righteous people. And let your yea be yea, and your nay be nay. That doesn't mean when you tell somebody to do something that lines up with the Word of God and they say, 'NO', that you're just suppose to get wishy-washy about it. Nicky Cruz was appointed by God to disciple me and he got heavy about it.

He didn't want to disciple me. He put a fleece out to God. He met me in an office building somewhere. I talked with him for an hour and a half. I told him that I was workin' in a rock group. I was working for a short time, about six months, with the rock group Black Sabbath. And I was in the middle of making an album with them. And I told Nicky Cruz what was going on in my life. I thought maybe Nicky could help me. And I thought he would have a word from God at the end of our get together 'cause I met him in this office. We went off alone. He sat and listened to all my problems. And at the end of it I looked at him and said, 'Well, Nicky Cruz, you are a man of God. What word do you have for me, man, that can help me, dude?' And Nicky looked at me and said, 'Well, I have a word for you, man.' I said, 'What's that, Nicky?' He said, 'You're very screwed up!' :)

And then he told God - God told him that he was to disciple me - and he told God, 'I will not disciple him unless he calls me at home on my private number. And I'm not giving him my private number. So, I'm just putting it out as a fleece. I don't, I don't need that.' See, so he wouldn't give me his private number. He told God, 'I'll disciple him if he calls me on my private number.'

For some reason for a couple of days I kept thinking, I want to talk to Nicky. And I want to call him on his private number. So, I searched around. And I did somethings, you know, from being in the music business and everything, I knew how to move with people. 'Oh, I met Nicky the other day, you know. And I don't know if he gave me his home number. But I need to call him. It's really important.' And I talked to a few people that knew him. Somebody gave me his home number.

So I called Nicky up. Ring. Ring. Click. 'Hello.' He said. I said, 'Hey, Nicky, this is Jeff, man.' He goes, 'Oh God. No! Please have mercy on me! Please God. No!' :) I said, 'What's the matter, you get some bad news, man?' :)

And then God put it on Nicky's heart to disciple me. And I prasie God. Because we're not only to be listeners of the Word and get saved through the blood of Jesus, but this is a call to righteousness. It is time to wake up, America. This is a call to holiness, now. And we as the church, those of us who are saved and filled with the Holy Ghost, are to be doers of the Word, in Jesus' name.

Put Off Foolish Things

It's phenomenal to be able to serve the Lord; and be able to come out and witness in places like this; and not be on drugs, not be uptight. You know, I was scared to witness in front of a small crowd? I was scared of small crowds. Believe it or not. When I got saved, I was used to huge crowds. And that's all I wanted. 'Cause they're dark; and there was one spotlight from the back; and the stage was like there was nobody there. All you could hear was just a big roar coming from out somewhere in the darkness. And they had those picket-type lines, those big, what do you call 'em - horses - or whatever you call those things. People, you know, police type wooden things [saw horses]. They set those up so you couldn't even see the people in front of the stage. So this is something. To be able to stand up straight, no drugs, no fear, no fear! Praise the Lord God!

How many of you are willing to go forward and do what God's called you to do? If you were willing to risk your lives before you were saved, how much more are you willing to risk your life now that you're saved and washed in the blood of Jesus Christ? Who in this place needs to dedicate your life to Jesus Christ and be saved tonight? How many of you need to be saved? Now this is a call to righteousness. How many of you are ready to put away foolish things? How many of you are ready to make a stand for Jesus Christ, and do a stand of holiness and righteousness tonight? How many of you turn away from anything that would seek to have dominion over you that is not of the Lord? How many of you will now raise your hand and say, 'Jesus, I surrender totally to You this day, this night, in Jesus name.' Today is the day of salvation. Come to Jesus!

My Deepest Love,
Jeff
