JESUS IS THE SAME

Welcome to Standin' On The Rock. You know, Hebrews 13:8 says, Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. I'm gonna do a show today of a lot of songs that we have written, that are kinda in the rocka-billy fifties-type sound. And a lot of tapes have come out. And people play this on the radio, play a lot of these things. What happen was, I went to the Soviet Union while it was still communist. And a lot of people were expectin' me to come out and do rock'n'roll; and do a whole heavy rock concert. And so I thought about it. And I thought, Lord, what can I do where people will have a good time; but, we can lift up your name, and still let people kinda party and have a little fun [party in the Lord, if you will]. And so, I put together a couple of these rocka-billy type songs. It was taped in the Olympic Stadium. And broadcast throughout all the former Soviet Union. And I was able to go on the only rock'n'roll program they had in communist Soviet Union back then, and pray the sinner's prayer. And I was told that over seventy percent of the Soviet Union watched that program, because it was the only program that had western-style rock'n'roll. So, this definitely served a purpose. But, much to my surprise, when I came back to the United States, people were saying, 'We saw you on the network [TBN]. We saw you doin' some of the old stuff, the rocka-billy type sound. We really loved it. Would you do some of that?' So, I started doin' some of the concerts, includin' it in some of the outreaches that I was doin'. And people had such a good time; I thought, Well, we'll have fun. You know, the Word of God does say, to be happy. So, I don't think it is wrong. It's definitely not wrong to have the joy of the Lord, and to be able to praise the Lord and have a good time. So, today on this show, we're gonna do a lot of this rocka-billy stuff. And we're gonna have a good time. And again, the Word of God says, in Hebrews 13:8, Jesus, the same, yesterday, today, and forever. Some styles, some types of music, some entertainers, they come and they go; but, Jesus is the same, yesterday, today, and forever. Praise God.

Now, I want to talk to you about the Lord. Talk to you personally. And I want you to know, that He is [as I said in the beginnin' of the program] the same, yesterday, today, and forever. His love is unconditional. And His mercy is from everlastin' to everlastin'. Some people say, 'Well, I've gone too far. Or, I've done too much.' Maybe you grew up in the fifties era; maybe you're one of the baby-boomers or beyond the baby-boomers. Well, Jesus is the same Jesus today who's callin' for you now, as the Jesus that He was and is Who called for you back when you were a child. Some of you might have wandered away from the Lord. But, I need you to really think about wanderin' back, if you will, to your first love, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Has your heart ever been broken? Well, the Lord can heal your broken heart. Do you feel the burden of sin on your life? Join the club. The Word of God says, That the whole world has come short of the glory of God. There is not one righteous unto himself. The only one who is righteous is Jesus Christ, Lord and Savior. You need to give it up to the Lord.

I tell people when I'm out in the arenas, or wherever we are, or in churches. We do churches as well. And I enjoy that. We tell people come forward. What's been amazin' to me lately is, the number of young people who are just comin' forward straight away. I was in Pensacola, Florida. I preached at the Pensacola Revival out there. And as I finished the service, to see all the young people runnin' to the altar. But, then what happened next was, we saw the adults comin'. When the power of God ministered to those who had come forward, the next thing that happened was people started comin' together and worshipin' the Lord. And we saw people huggin' each other; and moms and dads prayin' for kids; and teenagers prayin' for grandpas and grandmas. Well, you say, 'I'm broken and hurtin'; and I don't have a family.' You have a family who loves you, called the family of God. And Jesus is our Savior. And we are united under the blood. This is not a blonde-haired Norwegian kinda thing; this is not an Hispanic thing; this is not an African-American, or Asian or Indian or anything else. This is about Jesus. We are first and foremost believers. We are brothers and sisters in Christ.

Give your heart to the Lord. Call upon Jesus, and He will in no way, no wise [as the Bible says] cast you out. Call upon the Lord, now, and He'll be there to touch your heart; to hold you; and to set you free of all that burden, and all that heaviness. You might have all the money that you ever dreamed you would have; and yet, your money won't buy you the peace that you need in your heart. I was talkin' to a man last week, who is one of the ten richest men in America, and all of his money couldn't save his son who was sick and dyin', his grandson, excuse me. And yet, his grandson is with the Lord. Give it up to the Lord. Call on the Lord Jesus.

My Deepest Love,
Jeff
