JUST LOVE 'EM

How many know you don't loose your sense of humor when you come to the Lord? God has a sense of humor. He saved me. :) He's got a real sense of humor. I played Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar on Broadway. Was on the cover of Time Magazine dressed like, supposedly like, Jesus. And then God sends carpenters into my home to witness to me. God's got a sense of humor. Praise God. How many of you have been saved in a peculiar way? Well, we're peculiar people so we're going to get saved in a peculiar way. You know God says we're strangers, aliens in this world. We're in the world, but we're not of the world. We belong to the kingdom of Almighty God.

I'm going to tell you the truth. I came up rough. And I came up on the darkside of life. I wrote a song for Black Sabbath called I'm On The Darkside Of Life. See when I was out there head-banging and doing the Bible Black Tour in 1983 with members of Sabbath. I was writing things like that. But you see, God has delivered me out of that darkness. A lot of people look at those of us who are saved and filled with the Holy Ghost and they might prejudge. But you don't know the backgrounds of those that have been saved. I heard a brother in Christ one time being attacked by somebody in an airport. I was with this brother. And this man had been set free out of a murderous spirit. He had murdered people in his lifetime. And this man put upon him and started cussing him and calling him names. I remember this brother was all cleaned up, hair cut real nice, looked like butter would melt in his mouth. All of a sudden he looked at that man and said, 'You don't know me. You don't know my background. You don't know what I've been set free of. And you don't know what I struggle with everyday. I'm telling you right now, do yourself a favor. BACK OFF! In the name of Jesus.' You know that man backed off in the name of Jesus.

People used to look at me and they used to judge me as a kid. I remember one time a school principal called me in (to his office). He said, 'Your parents are divorced. This has happened in your life. You've had trouble with this; you've had trouble with that. And I know you're trouble. I've got twenty boys in this school that are causing me the worst trouble. And every one of them come from divorced backgrounds like yours, trouble. So help me, you get out of line in my school and I'm going to bang on you. Do you understand me?' I went, 'Yeah, I understand you.' I had three years of hell under that man. Three years of hell! Beatings and hell. By the time I was 15, I got my first hit record. And I was rebellious! United States of America we're a rebellious people as a country. I'm beginning to doubt very seriously that we are one nation under God. I don't see that. I'm doubting, I'm wondering, if we are even a Christian nation any more. How can you call yourselves a Christian nation if you can't speak the name of Jesus in the schools in the United States of America?

I remember when I got my first hit. I thought I'm on a home run here. I'm doing exactly what I said I was going to do. Yeah, I've been in jail. Yeah, the good kids don't want to associate with me. Yeah, the only thing I can do with the good kids was make jokes, joke around - hey. Then a lot of them will standback from a distance now, 'cause I got a hit record. And say, 'Yeah, he's cool.' But I'm into my own space and hanging with the druggers. I'm hanging with the young men and women who like to drink. I'm hanging with the so called 'loosers'. I'm hanging with the kids in the street. And I'm gonna get rich. I'm going to be a rock'n'roll star. I've got a voice. I've got the talent. I've got the long hair. And I've got the presentation on stage. I can walk out there, I feel what I'm doing. People would always try to imitate what people were doing in rock'n'roll. But those of us who were doing it, it is because it came out of our guts! Came out of our guts through sin and rebellion. I was a fighter. People used to say to me, 'You ain't goin' to make it.' I'd say, 'Get out of my way. Watch Me!' Then I went through hits. Went through money. I was on a head-banging tour. I was a fighter. A fighter, not necessarily physically rough, but I'm saying a fighter in the world. I would fight for everything I had to get. I was in a particular area called the Bible Belt touring. We had five bomb threats 'cause they said we were the devil, we were not of God. People calling up and calling themselves Christians, but I don't believe it. And they're saying they're going to blow up the stadium that we were performing in. When I was in Jesus Christ Superstar, they were saying, 'Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords. He is not a superstar. We are going to kill you if you come to this town.' Now if you don't think that was confusing for an unsaved person to see that. I got punched in the mouth one time by a guy in a black suit with a little collar, white collar on. I got off the bus and this dude walked over to me. And he said, 'Jesus ain't no superstar!' And he went bam! and hit me right in the mouth. That dude almost died for Jesus that day 'cause we put our roadies on him. They ripped him loose.

If I had to pray against anything when I got saved, I prayed, 'Father, Let me love everyone. And not worry whether someone was in authority.' See, I had hang ups about authority. That's what I wasn't thrilled about. The Word of God says in Ephesians 4, As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle. I'm trying guys. Maybe I'm not there yet, but I'm giving it my best shot. I'm just surrendering myself to Jesus. And I've told God before, 'I'm not going to make it.' When I first started witnessing, I said, 'I'm not going to make it.' Jesus said, 'I know.' I said, 'I can't make it, Jesus, I can't. There's people insulting me everyday. There's this stuff comin' on.' And I'm not talkin' about the people of darkness, drug addicts. I'm talkin' about church people. Comin' up and saying, 'You're not a Christian. I know you're not a Christian. You're wearing a black suit. Black's of the devil. Or you've got long hair. Or you're wearing a gold watch.' Why weren't all you people so unhappy when I had a gold watch and a $3,000,000 house while I was spewing out death. All of a sudden I'm worshiping the Lord Jesus Christ and I put on a watch that I've had for years and years and a spirit comes against us. My children were never attacked until I started worshiping the Lord. I'm giving it my best shot. And I told Jesus when I started out, 'I can't make it.' Jesus said, 'I know you can't. I CAN.' With God as my witness, I lo-o-o-o-ve witnessing in the prisons. I have never run into a religious spirit in a prison. I love witnessing to a drug addict. I love witnessing to the unsaved. So will you as you open yourself up and let God use you. Be completely humble and gentle. Be patient. Bearing with one another in love. IN LOVE.

When you write to me out there in television land and you say, 'I have a word from God. You with your frizzy long hair, and stinking clothes and boots. And this and that.' Then you come down, down, down. There's nothin' uplifting about you. When you come on to a young person, and say, 'You can't look this way. You can't act this way. You can't be this way.' Just LOVE 'em! JUST LOVE 'EM! I'll tell you something else. One thing God showed me early on, if I surrounded myself with all long haired head-bangers and went out and witnessed. We might reach here; we might reach there. What a tremendous time to come together with varied backgrounds. What a witness it is to stand up and say, 'Yeah, we've come out of this. Or we've come out of that. We are the body of Christ and we are together. We are one in the Spirit.

When I was in High school and grade school (I was the oldest son), I used to beat my little brother half to death. I knocked his front teeth out. He had to get fake teeth put in. I don't know why. I'm not proud of it, but I did it. I knocked his front teeth out. But if anybody else would touch my brother, I would try to kill 'em. I would rally the troops - you touched my brother. Well. I'm not saying we're called to kill anybody as Christians. But I'm going to tell you somethin'. We need to get in the Spirit of the Lord to protect one another; to lift up one another; to have the fire of the Holy Ghost. Some of you guys have been in the gangs. How many of you were in gangs in this place? You know what that was - one goes down, everybody goes down. Right? Honor among thieves - sorry guys, makin' a point. One goes down - all go down. Well, do you know that we have the Spirit of the Lord. We have a much finer commitment. Those of you that are here, who have been washed in the Blood of Jesus, we have that commitment. One goes down, we're all going down. I don't want any phoney-bolognie. I'm tired of unholy marcarooni. Phoney-bolognie-macarooni. I'm sick of it. We should have an attitude - One For All And All For One in the body of Christ. In love. Praise God. In love. We are to serve our Lord Jesus in love. Praise you Lord. We are to be patient. Bearing one another in love. Make every effort to keep unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope. Who is our hope? Jesus is our hope. One hope. I don't have hope in Mohammed; I don't have hope in Buddha; I don't have hope in the KluKluxKlan. Heaven forbid! I don't have hope in some biker gang; I don't have hope in the music industry; or in the stock market. My hope is in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior, the true Messiah. Just as you were called to one hope, when you were called. One Lord, one faith, one baptism. One God and Father of all. Who is over all and through all and in all. You are to make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. People, this is a call to war. I declare war right now on the kingdom of hell throughout this land. Bakersfield, we'll start in Bakersfield. Let's set fire in the United States of America. Let the fire of the Holy Spirit spread throughout the world.

When you begin to serve the Lord Jesus Christ, there's no bigotry. We can't be a bigot. We can't hate each other. We can't do it. If you hate me or I hate you and we're brothers and sisters in the Lord, there is something wrong. If there is anything here or anything in our hearts tonight, we need to bring it to Jesus. Don't be in judgment, because most of the world has had problems. They have been conditioned by the devil. Somebody spits at you, white man, and he happens to be black. Then all of a sudden black people are no good any more. Somebody beats you out of a job, or steals your girlfriend, Mr. white man, and he happens to be an Hispanic man. So all of a sudden all Hispanics are just Don Juan, big lovers. And you don't like them either. And all of this stuff is goin' on out there. But we are going to Root it out of the church of Jesus Christ. If there is anything there but the love of the Gospel, the love of my Savior Jesus, we are going to root it out. In the name of the Most High God. How many of you are committed to loving one another in Jesus Christ?

You need to receive Jesus, tonight. I bind every spirit over you. Any spirit that would come to attack any one out there. I pray the power of the Holy Ghost upon you in Jesus name. For it is written, Today is the day of salvation. Bring your heart to the Lord, right now. If you've fought some sort of racism; if somebody has hurt you; called you a dirty name because of the color of your skin ---- I had a guy just a while back in Texas, I had a guy come on to me when I witnessed the Gospel, called me all kinds of names about my color. And I got to be honest with you, it made me mad. I came the closest to popping him then I've come in a long time, because he attacked my male ego. But that's dead. My male ego is supposed to be dead. And praise God, Jesus won over that day. ---- If you have been slandered; if anybody has called you a dirty name; or a name against the color of your skin; or if you're harboring any quilt; or any hatred or any unforgiveness; or if you just want God to move in a deeper way; bring it to the Lord Jesus Christ tonight. And let's get one spirit; become one spirit. Praise God.

I EXALT THEE [755k .wav file, 35 sec.]

I exalt Thee
I exalt Thee, my Lord
I exalt Thee, Oh my Lord
I exalt Thee, my King, My Jesus
I exalt Thee
I exalt Thee
Oh-h-h-h, my Lord

Father God, I pray, in Jesus name, for every one that has reached out to you. I strike down a spirit of anti-Christ which brings forth the spirit of bigotry, and judgment, and affliction upon not only the person it touches but those it reaches out against. I bind any force or any spirit that would come to set itself up against the kingdom of heaven. And I pray for power and love and soundness of mind. I pray for the gifts of the Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit upon all who call on the name of the Lord. I pray for unity in the churches. I pray that we will come together as one. That we will not allow false doctrine to bring us down. Father God, tumble the walls. Just as surely as your earthquakes shake California where I live here in Los Angeles and all throughout this land, shake those walls in the kingdom. Bring down those walls of bigotry and division amongst the church. Bring it down amongst the hearts of those in leadership. Bring it down in the body of Christ that is within men and women. Bring down all that would divide. For the devil's scheme is to divide and conquer. But Jesus, we can do all things through Christ Jesus. And, we are more than conquerers through Him that loved us. Father, bond us together with Jesus Christ as our leader. Let us, the body of Christ, unite and go to war. War, in the name of the Most High God. Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, we surrender ourselves to You. And we pray Your power and fire upon everyone that will receive in Jesus name. Amen and Amen. Praise God.

My Deepest Love,
Jeff
