The Word of God says in Romans 8:1,2,5,6, There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Amen. We walk after the Spirit of the Lord. For the law of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. A lot of people talk about the law that's in the world out here, that can come and lock you up. That isn't the law we really have to fear. The law we really have to fear is the law of truth as compared to lies; the law of cause and effect, that's what we deal with spiritually when we go down the wrong road and we do the wrong thing like shinin' these people on. And you say, 'I'm not gonna do that now. I'm not goin' for it. I'm not signin' for the package.' You know, when UPS comes. They knock on my door at my office, everyday. They come in, they bring packages, they pick up stuff. Everytime you do it, man, you gotta sign. You gotta sign, you know? When you're out there, you have to figure out spiritually what you're gonna sign for, and what you're not gonna sign for. Isn't that right?
As for me, I'm gonna serve the Lord. I get people criticizing me a lot, brother, I know it's hard for anybody here to believe. Because I'm just so cool, now, you know. :) But I'll get criticism; I get people talkin' about me; I get newspapers callin' me. I had one just a couple of weeks ago call me. And they were wantin' to do some kinda weird stuff, you know. And talkin' about, 'Well, you're just this and that.' But you know what again, I'd rather be called names for tryin' to do what's right, and serve the Lord; then to be called a punk, or a long haired drugger, or this or that. People pointin' out bad things. If I'm gonna get called names, and let's figure it out, we're all gonna be called names. It's called the world. But, if I'm gonna get called names, I'd rather be called names with somethin' attached to it. That is righteous, righteousness of Jesus. His righteousness is why we stand; why we don't fall, amen.
The Word of God says that, Jesus has made us free from the law of sin and death. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; If you're on drugs, that's a thing of the flesh. You're goin' to go out and try to get those drugs. You're gonna mind those things. If you're into porno, or chasin' women, or whatever, and this and that; you're gonna go for those things. You're gonna go after the things that are of the world. But when you've been redeemed, you are free from the law of sin and death. You're gonna look for the things that bring life, and life abundantly.
For the Word of God says, but they that are after the Spirit, mind the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Now, does that mean we are gonna have peace in the world? No. We're not necessarily gonna have peace. We had a couple of brothers on the show, asian gang bangers. They gave their hearts to Jesus. Five of them were sittin' in a car; three of them got shot. Man, that isn't peace. But guess what, the peace we're talkin' about is the peace that's beyond the world's understandin'. Peace inside. Even if I got taken out, I'd still have peace. 'Cause I've made peace with the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords. This peace, man, they can't take it away. Hallelujah!
I'm havin' a Bible study. We need to get back to what's happenin' here. Amen. I love gettin' around brothers that believe in Jesus. I love gettin' around Christians. I'm on the road a lot. And I get to get up in front of crowds in auditoriums and arenas and things. And I get to do that. But I spend an awful lot of time on airplanes. And I don't get to just sit with brothers. It's good to just be with people in the Lord here. Isn't it, man? And you know what, we're brothers in Christ, too. I don't know if there was ever a time when you might not have thought that. Or if any of us here might have been bound up in that thing, where we thought, 'Well, my homeboys, or my family, or my friends, are this color, or this background, or that.' This is the family of God, right here. This is the family of God right here. There are people who the world would say are my people, that wouldn't stick with me. Would not, and they don't. 'Cause I made a choice for Jesus. And yet, you stick with me. Praise God.
