I remember this homicide cop saying to me one time. This guy had been on the force for twenty-six years. Homicide cop, and you know who I'm talkin' about. And he looked at me one time and he said, 'Man, I got another suicide out there. Everytime I see these people,' And this is a harden, I mean a New York cop. He told me once he was investigating, like, nine murders a week and all this kinda stuff. But he looked at me and said, 'You know, I got another suicide. I looked at this person. And I said, What if you would have changed your mind tomorrow? That's what I say to everyone I go to. I say, Man, what if you would have changed your mind tomorrow? You know?' Suicide is not an answer. There are songs about the suicide solution. There songs about don't fear the reaper. You know, and all this kinda stuff. Just like Romeo and Juliette, you can be this and that. And then there is other stuff talkin' about this hopeless situation you hear about. But, in Jesus Christ, it is never hopeless.
When I was in prison talkin' to Charles Manson two days ago [1/6/92]. Charlie said to me, 'I've lost hope.' And, it might be hard for some people to understand, but, I felt so bad for him. When he sat there. We were real close [sitting], you know, right there. And he just looked very dejected, very down. He said, 'You know, I'm ready to go, man, I've just lost hope.' I said, 'Charlie, man, don't lose hope.' Right away he lit up again. You know, he's real energetic. He said, 'Well, I don't know, I don't know.' I said, 'Well, through Jesus, there is hope, Charlie, there's hope.' He said, 'Well, yeah. Yeah. Well, yeah.' Well, there is hope. Hope in Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Jesus is Life. The devil comes to rob, kill, and destroy. But Jesus comes to give you life, and life abundantly. Don't you give up on your life. Don't you give up on you state of affairs. You businessman, you think you're gonna lose your home, or you're gonna lose your business. Let me tell you somethin'. You might not see this now, but, Jesus has a life, a place for you, a way for you that is far beyond your comprehesion. And I'm not talkin' about in the life to come. I'm talkin' right here.
There were things I never thought I would get out of. NEVER, EVER DREAMED from ten years ago, some of the stuff that was goin' on in my life, that I would get out from under. I had considered suicide, but I just wouldn't do it, just too much tormoil there. There was one time I came rather close to it. And TBN had quite a profound effect on me, 'cause those were nights when I would sit up and watch TV. And I watched TBN quite a bit in those days. And suicide seemed like some sort of an answer. But suicide is only an answer to the flesh. It is only a way of killin' the flesh. But it doesn't kill your spirit, doesn't kill your soul, doesn't kill your mind, if you will.
Reeni: It doesn't take away any pain, because you continue to live. Your flesh will die, but you will still be alive even when your flesh dies.'
And you're locked in then. You talk about being locked in... [Reeni: Then you are locked in. You see, Jesus is the deliverer. Jesus will deliver you from your pain. We have tons of letters that come into the ministry all the time, and they are people giving praises telling how they've been delivered from this, delivered from that. You name it. We've gotten letters of people that have been delivered out of horrible circumstances.] Things that are just unbelievable, some of them. [Reeni: If they had committed suicide, they would never have known the deliverance.] Some of these things that we've heard (testimonies that people have been delivered out of and that they have overcome), if you took a script and went to Hollywood they'd say, 'We won't put this in a movie because, first of all, it's too graphic, it's too this, it's too that. And it's unbelievable. People would not believe it.' [Reeni: I know. I was reading a letter today that it was hard for me to believe. It was just circumstances after circumstances. This letter, that was written to us, was just one horrifying event after another that had happened to this woman and her children. I mean, it was just an absolute nightmare of a thing. And yet, this woman is a believer in Jesus Christ. She has never waivered. She has continued to believe. And it was wonderful to hear there are people that, even though their circumstances are much worse than I can even imagine, and yet they know that Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and The Life. And they have life and joy in their heart.] Absolutely. [Reeni: And people that... It's really a spirit that comes on people to want to commit suicide.] Absolutely. I think it is a spirit of murder turned inward. [Reeni: Yes, to take that person's life and destroy them.] Absolutely. [Reeni: And what a ministry that these people now have ministering in their own towns, and in their own churches, and right in the places where they are. Because they came to a place where they were in that position, where they wanted to take their own life because of situations. Yet, Jesus Christ turned them around, and turned their whole lives around, to where now they have total triumph in the Lord.]
I had a young man, when I was first starting to witness, the Full Gospel Businessmen brought me to Hawaii. That was back four years ago [1987/88]. It was during the triatholon. And you went with me. Then you had to return to the main land, and I stayed and did some outreaches. I remember one night, there was a young man that came up to me after the whole thing was over. And he said to me, 'I want to talk to you. I want to talk with you privately. I want to pray with you.' Well, I sized him up in certain ways. Nobody can, of course, help doing that. We are living in the world. And I looked at him. And I saw a guy who was very clean cut, very handsome kid. He was nineteen or twenty. Kid, to me. Just a really great looking young guy. And we went back into the back of the place. And he said, 'I want you to pray for me.' And, I can't recall exactly what he told me upfront. But, I prayed with him. And I started, as I was praying, I started binding spirits as God led me to do. Some people think I'm fanatic. I am. I'm fanactically saved, washed in the blood. I believe that Jesus gave us the power to cast out demons in His name. And when I'm praying in Tongues, I've had people say to me, 'You shouldn't pray in Tongues. You shouldn't this. You shouldn't that.' Well, it edifies the spirit-man in me. Some people say you shouldn't pray in Tongues without an Interpretation. But if you're praying yourself, and you're praying for someone else, and you're in the Spirit, then what's happenin' is the Spirit in you, the Holy Spirit, is being edified. The Spirit is praying through you for that person or the people around you. And, as I began laying hands and praying in the Spirit of the Lord [tongues], and praying in the language that God had given me, the Holy Spirit prayed through me. It began to be revealed to me what was going on. And as I was praying, I would pray in the Spirit, in Tongues. Then, all of a sudden it would come to me, I'd say, 'Spirit of murder, I bind you in the name of Jesus.' And this kid started, every time I would name a spirit, he would say, 'Thank you.' Like that [softly]. I would name a spirit [such as depression], the kid had not even talked to me. I didn't know what was going on. And to look at him, you would have thought everything was great. All of a sudden the Holy Spirit led me to pray, 'Spirit of death, I order you to loosen now, in Jesus' Name. And I bind you, in the name of Jesus. And I cast you out.' And, quite frankly, I was young in ministry. And when I got that to pray, to bind the spirit of death on this kid, I thought I'm really steppin' out here. You know, at that time I thought, to bind the spirit of death - to scare this kid, or whatever. But, he had been saying, 'Thank you' for all these things as I was calling them. So, I said, 'Spirit of death, I bind you in the name of Jesus. And I cast you out of him now.' And he said, 'Thank you.' And I would imagine that you would remember the story. But we were standing, because he wanted to be private, we were standing atleast 20 or 30 feet away from everybody. We were in the back of the auditorium, completely away from everybody. And, all of a sudden, this stench started coming up. And it smelled like, at first, something vile. It was like a dog had just done something, somewhere, or something. And it started to smell. Then the smell went way beyond a dog, if you well. The stench was so disgusting that I started to [choke]. I, yuk, yuk, bind you. And this guy stood there and the stench was all over him. I said, 'Spirit of death, I BIND YOU IN THE NAME OF JESUS. AND I ORDER YOU TO LOOSEN, OUT NOW. AND I CAST YOU OUT OF THIS PLACE. And I didn't order it to the footstool of Jesus, like I would do right now. But I said, 'I order you to depart, now, out of this place, in the name of Jesus.' Now, if it had been a worldly stench, it would have dissipated. Like opening a window, it would have faded. You would have said, 'Well, [cough, cough] now, it is somewhat bearable.' Then, it would have slowly...But, with God was my witness, when I said, 'I order you, spirit of death, to leave this place, now, in the name of Jesus.' that smell, it was gone! It was gone! It was like sticking your head in a dead carcuss, and smelling it. And then, it was just gone! And I looked at this kid. And the kid was just saying, 'Thank you. Thank you.' And he just started going on and on. I believe, I had prayed the sinner's prayer with him before I did all this. And to be honest with you, I've done it both ways. I got saved delivered before I prayed the sinner's prayer. I got delivered of drugs. And this kid told me that his father had hated him. And I don't remember all that was going on in his life. But he had come to the concert. And he got in his pick-up truck and took off. And he said that something stopped him, I think it was miles down the road, and turned him around. And he came all the way back. And he said because his father had hated him as a kid, I believe, he had moved out at seventeen years old. Was trying to live. I don't know if he was doing construction, or whatever. Was trying to get by. He was having things with his mind, where he was starting to dream. Dreaming something that he felt he couldn't get away from it, like a paranoia or something. So, he began to decide that he was going to kill himself. And he started to share all this with me after I prayed for him. And, yet, God totally delivered him. And we got him plugged into a really solid group there that was in the home of a very wealthy land owner that was attending that. He said that he had a Bible study. And he was going to take this kid under his wing, he and his wife, and they were gonna see this thing through. And that is the Lord! That is the Lord Jesus Christ.
Reeni: Suicide is one of those spirits that, it doesn't matter what the problem is, or where the person is, it seems to just go for the throat no matter.
Before we go any further, I bind the spirit of death, the spirit of suicide, the spirit of murder. I bind in the name of Jesus, right now. And I order you to loose that person that is watching now, or that person we are believing for. In the name of Jesus, the Lord rebuke you, Satan. And I bind those death spirits, all dark spirits that would come to bring death, to kill, steal, and destroy. I bind you and cast you away, now, in the name of Jesus. And now, we want to pray with you. And we want you to receive Jesus, those of you that are watching. I believe that you have clearness of mind. Some of you have really been battling and struggling. You think you are struggling with yourself. No, you haven't been struggling with yourself. You've been struggling with an evil spirit. And yet, we've commanded that evil spirit to loose you. And now, you need to receive the Spirit of the Living God into you. And you need to receive life through Jesus, the true Messiah, our Lord and Savior. I want you to pray with Reeni and me. I want you to say, 'Father, God. I come to you in the name of Jesus. I am not filled with death, but I'm full of life. Because Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.' Come into my life, Lord Jesus. Amen. Praise God.
