WALK BY FAITH

Hebrews 11:6, tells us, Without faith it is impossible to please Him. For he that cometh to God must believe He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. I want to tell you a story that comes to mind. I'm not sure exactly how much time I have left, but I'll try to get this in. And I wasn't plannin' to share this. It's not somethin' I asked my office to look up. So, I'm just gonna share it. I'm not sure of the names of the people involved. And, quite frankly, I probably shouldn't give those names over the television, anyway. But we do have them at the office in case anybody wanted to, in case I need to for some reason, give that name.

I was in Washington, the state of Washington. I believe it was Kelso, if I'm not mistaken. I was at an Opera House. I was doin' a concert in a place about the size of this Nashville facility [TBN Music City]. And it was full, a good crowd, a wonderful show, concert, outreach, prayer meetin'. At the end of the night somebody said, 'There's a man, who's a pastor, who had to be carried in. He's out sittin' in the lobby of this Opera House. He wants you to come to pray for him.' So, I went out there, not knowin' what I was goin' to find or what to expect. And when I walked out, there was a man sittin' on the steps that led up to the balcony. It was marble floors and all that. This man was laid out on the steps. And he was yellow, the skin was yellow. He was so sick, that he could barely move. And he was in pain. His foot was bandaged and wrapped. And, to be perfectly honest and I guess, graphic with you, he stunk. He had the smell of, I want to say spoiled flesh, rottin' flesh. You could smell it. He stank. I went over and I asked what was goin' on. I was told that he had cancer. And he was in stage 4 [or whatever the worst is]. They asked me if I would pray for him. Well, I prayed for him. And when I laid hands on him, others who were there laid hands on him as well. It turns out he was a pastor, pastored an Assembly of God church up in that area.

And I laid hands on him, and I prayed. And I bound that demon of hell. I said, 'You come out of him, you spirit of death. You come out of him in the name of Jesus.' I said, 'You evil spirit, cancer, sickness, I break your curse. You come out of him in Jesus' name.' And I commanded that spirit. And I opened my eyes and I looked at him. There was no change, nothin' had happened. I don't really remember him sayin', 'Thank you very much, or anythin'.' But I know we couldn't have much of a conversation.

And the Word of God says, We walk by faith, not by sight. II Corinthians 5:7. We walk by faith, not by sight.

So, I looked at him, and I didn't see a change. And they picked him up. And they carried him out. And they told me that the reason his foot was all wrapped was that his foot was rottin'. They told me that his foot had literally, literally, rotted. And I left.

A couple months later we got a phone call. They said, my secretaries were all jumpin' up and down, all excited. They said, 'There was a man you prayed for, who's a pastor up in Washington. You prayed for him on the steps.' I said, 'Oh, I remember. I remember.' Duh, how could I forget? They said, 'He is healed.' I said, 'Glory to God. He's healed. Praise God.' They said, 'Well, there's more to this. He was sent home to die. And they had literally give him weeks to live. He was sent home to die.

And this pastor's little son came to him, who was, as I recall, about eight years old. With child-like faith he said to his father, 'Daddy, I prayed. And Jesus told me, God told me, that if you'll go to that concert where that Fenholt guy is, God is gonna heal you.' And this pastor, when I wound up talkin' to him, he told me this story.

He said, 'I have to tell you what happened. I didn't like you very much. I didn't understand you back then. I saw you on television, saw you out of the rock'n'roll. Really, I even said some things derogatory about you. But, then as I began to watch you on television I thought, 'Well, the guy does love Jesus, he does love God.' I thought it was strange that my son came to me and said, 'You need to go this place. And this man needs to lay hands on you.'

I can't help but wonder if that wasn't an act of faith, not only for the man because of needin' a healin'. But I'm wonderin' if because he was a pastor; had been raised a Christian; knew the Word of God so tremendously well; that it might have seemed like foolishness to him to have somebody come out of rock'n'roll like me, who was just out there, had been out for not too long of a time, witnessin'. And to go to somebody like me to lay hands. And then to have his son say that. He told me he wrestled so hard with it because he thought I'm lyin' here. And it appears in the natural that I'm dyin'. If God doesn't do somethin' supernatural I'm gonna die.

God is the God of the supernatural. When you need a healin', God is the healer. And He heals supernaturally. This man says, 'I was afraid to go because I thought if I go there and see this guy out of rock'n'roll; he lays hands on me; and I don't recover; and if I die; where do I leave my son? Will my son turn away from God? Will he not have faith in God?

These were heavy thoughts on a father who was under severe attack from the enemy. But this man gave in. And I don't know, quite frankly, if he had gotten somethin' from God himself. He just, he really never went through that part with me. But he came and I laid hands on him.

He said, 'Shortly after we laid hands on him, he felt better. The power of God was movin' in his body. He felt healin', the virtue of God comin' into his body. And he didn't die. He started to recover. And then the doctors looked at him. They said, 'You've gone from stage 4 to stage 3.' Then he went from stage 3 to stage 2, if that's the way it goes. Then he went from stage 2 to stage 1. And then finally the doctors said to him, 'There's be a cure. We have effected a cure.' And the man said, 'No, God has healed me.' And the doctors said, 'Well, if you want to believe God healed you, well, that's OK. But, in any event, you're in remission, your cancer.'

Well, guess what happened? His bone, in the back of his ankle, had collapsed because the bones had been eaten from cancer from the inside out. So, the bone in his heel had collapsed. In a short time after the doctors had told him they had effected a cure, and that he was in remission of cancer from the chemo or whatever had happened. And the Pastor had said, 'No, God has healed me.' The doctors said, 'Well, just believe what you want to believe.' And kinda tossed it off. God regrew the bones in his heel. When he went back to the doctors, I don't think the chemo-theraphy did that. :) Do You?

We serve an awesome God. Child-like faith. God says, You must come to Me like a child. You must enter into the kingdom of heaven like a child. Or you will not enter in at all. One of the things that helped me when I first got saved was, I didn't have all that doctinal, man doctrinals stuff, cause I'd never been in a church that preached a born-again message before in my life. All I knew was: I was a mess :) and now I've been healed. Jesus has healed me. I believe that you are healed. I believe you're gonna make it with Jesus Christ. I believe that we walk by faith not by sight. And I believe that the day until I take my last breath on this planet, my faith will be in the Lord Jesus Christ. I am redeemed by the blood of the Lamb. My faith is not in me. My faith is not in a church. My faith is not in man. My faith is not in money. My faith is not in things. My faith is in God. Praise the Lamb of God. Song: Lamb Of God [759k .wav file, 35 sec].

Praise God. Whatever your need is out there, God can meet your need. Put your faith and your trust in your Redeemer, Jesus Christ. Lord, I plead the blood of Jesus over each and every one who is out there. I pray for you. And I pray that God's will be done in your life. And that you will receive it by faith. God bless you.
