You know a lot of people talk about the end of the world comin'. And I saw a sign in an ad on TV, that maybe some of you saw? Where there was a man, they were makin' fun of somebody sayin', 'The end is near.' He's holding up a sign, 'The end is near'. And they were using it to mock God, and to make a statement about the end of a sale is near for this particular chain of stores. And they were talkin' about the end is near. And then, they come on and show a man standing with a sign that says, 'The end is near'. And than, they come on; and say, 'The sale is almost over! Get down to the store! The end is near!' You know? And I saw that. But what struck me was, the sign the man was holdin'. They had filmed a real man. It appeared to be that he had been witnessin' on the street. It looked like a dated sort of photo. And I thought, If I was to hold up that sign, I wouldn't hold up a sign that said, 'The end is near'. I would hold up a sign that says, 'You're end is near'.
We can debate about the world. We can debate about when the world is gonna end. But let me tell you somethin'.We don't have to debate terribly long about your end. Your end is comin' sometime between now and seventy years from now, probably. For some of us, like me, it's comin' twenty, thirty years from now. Or a few more of these plane flights maybe very quickly.
I was readin' in Life Magazine. And I wasn't plannin' to show any of this; but, there's a Scripture in the Bible that says, And the moon will be turned to blood...Look at this....the sky. That they're sayin'...red skies of pure delight. They are sayin' that, 'The skies over a cornfield in Nebraska,' in Life Magazine, 'glowed red thanks to volcanic particles from half way around the world.' Look at the sunset. They're talkin' about the strange sunsets that are goin' on around the world. I'm not sayin' that signifies the end of the world; but, I think it's strange that Life Magazine is doin' articles, today, saying that. Baby, It's Weird Outside is the title of the article. Baby, It's Weird Outside..... And, they're talkin' about the things that are goin' on throughout the planet. Also, it says in that same scripture that, The sun will be turned black. In the same article, look at what happened during the Desert Storm. Twenty-four hour darkness!
Now, I'm not pretending to be some theologian; whose studied everything, and knows the Greek and the Hebrew, and all these other things. Quite frankly, I graduated from Satan University, myself. But, I turned my life over to Jesus Christ. And now, I'm washed in the blood, and I'm a child of the King. Praise God! How many of you can say that? But I tell you, we need to find out Whose mercy endureth forever. And who loves us.
I remember Telly Savalas used to say, 'Who loves you baby?' Well, I tell you, there's one whom we need to have love us within ourself. We need to open up to His love. He already loves us. But we need to open up to His love. You know this Bible here...What I was gonna speak on...this is the King James Version. And I was...my Bible is the New International. And I'm goin' to try to find what I was referrin' to here. As I was comin' up here this afternoon, I was reading in Psalms 107, Oh give thanks unto the Lord for He is good. His mercy endureth forever. It says that, many men sat in darkness in the shadow of death, in verse 10, being abound in afflictions and irons, because they had rebelled against the Word of God. Why were these men incarcerated? Why are so many people being incarcerated throughout the world? Why are so many people bound in irons? Not because they have done something wrong in terms of man's law only. But says here in verse 11, Psalm 107 verse 11,They sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being abound in affliction and irons; because they had rebelled against the Word of God. And they went against the counsel of the Most High. Therefore, He brought down their heart with labor. He allowed troubles, tribulations to come upon them. Did God bring those on them? No, I believe he allowed this happen. They fell down, and there was none to help. the Word of God says.
Then, after they did the acid.... How many in here were into drugs heavily? I have a friend from Sacramento area that killed his own brother while on drugs. Murdered his own brother. Dennis Whitman. I had him on TV, about a month ago. When he was bound up, smokin' angel dust, he murdered his own brother. The Word of says, Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble and He saved them out of their distress. He brought them out of darkness, and the shadow of death. And he broked their bands asunder. That's a God that I serve. Says that, Oh, that men would praise the Lord for His goodness; and for His wonderful works to the children of men. For He has broken the gates of brass, and cut through the bars of Iron.
That's my Jesus. And that's my Lord.
Everyone of us have sinned. We need to call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, receive Him. Some of us are bound up, and we're not even incarcerated in prison. People get bound up in fear; people get bound up in lust. Maybe you have some woman that you're just obsessed with; or some of you women are obsessed with some man. Let me tell you somethin'. There is a lot of ways that the Devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy. We need to call on the name of Jesus. I'd like everyone to stand up. I'm gonna sing I Exalt Thee [755k .wav file, 35 sec]. But before I do, I want everyone that is saved, washed in the blood of Jesus; and everything is goin' well in your life right now, I want you to sit down. Well, we have a lot of honest people here that are standin'. I would like you to come forward as we sing I Exalt Thee. Praise the Lord Jesus. Those of you who are standin', we're gonna pray with you. How about those of you who need to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Who in this place needs to rededicate your heart to Jesus tonight? I want you to come forward, also. Praise Jesus. Praise the Lord. Praise God.
