  1. Solomon describes three pathways of life in Proverbs Ch.3, Ch 24: 3,4

  2. The three temptations incorrupted, pure

    3. Purity of loving God through suffering (lifestyle of calling forth will provoke suffering) - Apostle Paul

  4. Motive gifts (Romans 12) and ministries (Ephesians 4) add diversity to designs but the design of the heart can be seen if traits are known.

    1. Reason for this class:

      • Now concerning Spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you ignorant. I Corinthians 12:1

    2. Led by the flesh:

      • I Corinthians 12:2 -Ye know that ye were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb idols, even as you were led.

      • Romans 8:5-8 -For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can it be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

      • Romans 8:12-14 -Therefore, brethren, we are not debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live, For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

    3. God is jealous for Himself:

      • I Corinthians 12:3 - Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

      • Ezekiel 39:25 - Therefore thus saith the Lord God; now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;

      • John 14:20 - At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father and ye in me, and I in you.

      • John 14:11a - Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me.

      • John 14:6 - Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, an the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.

      • John 14:26 - But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

      • I Corinthians 15:28 - And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

  5. God the Holy Spirit - All motive gifts are given by Holy Spirit, yet all three members of Trinity can be seen through the motive gifts.

  6. God the Son - The Lord Jesus Christ - All administrations are given by the Lord Jesus Christ, yet all three members of the Trinity can be seen through the ministries.

  7. God the Father - Father gives these gifts yet the whole Trinity can be seen.

        • 1754 energeo from 1756 to be active, efficient -- do, be effectual (fervent), be mighty in, shew forth self, work effectually in

        • 1722 en primary verb denoting position and instrumentally, i.e. a relation of rest

        • 2041 ergon primary verb to work, toil by implication an act -- deed, doing, labor, work

      2. Operation

        • Colossians 2:12 - Buried with him in baptism, wherein ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

      3. operation - Psalm 28:5; Isaiah 5:12

        • Psalm 28:5 - Because they regard not the works of the Lord, nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them, and not build them up.

        • Isaiah 5:12b, 13 - ... but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of His hands. Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.

      • I Corinthians 15:28 - And when all things shall be subdued unto Him, then shall the Son also Himself be subject unto Him that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

      • Ephesians 1:17a, 22, 23 - That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, ... And hath put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be the head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him that filleth all in all.

      • Ephesians 4:6 - One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

  8. What is the operation of God which worketh all in all? - Father's surgery on the heart of man.

    1. After flesh - For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of Father, but of the world. I John 2:16

For to one is given by the Spirit, the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirit; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another interpretation of tongues: but all these worketh that one and the same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.
